The Singrobo-Ahouaty hydroelectric development is located on the Bandama River, 23 km downstream from the existing Taabo dam and upstream from the confluence of the Nzi River. It is located 3.5 km from the village of Singrobo in the department of Taabo and about 148 km by road from Abidjan.
The project is structured on the basis of a 35-year concession contract of the “Build, Own, Operate and Transfer (BOOT)” type signed between the Republic of Côte d'Ivoire and IHE - a private company, the sole purpose of which is social is the implementation of the project.
the Singrobo-Ahouaty hydroelectric power station offers a competitive electricity tariff and will contribute in the long term to reducing the average national production cost. The project is part of the Ivorian government's strategy, which aims to achieve a 42% share of renewable energy by 2030.
This type of assembly, known as IPP, makes it possible to mobilize the development, design, construction and operating capacities of the private sector. Funding is also provided by the private sector, which limits the use of public debt.
Finally, this arrangement allows an optimized distribution of risks between public and private parties allowing better efficiency in the implementation.
